FAQs

Are you available on my wedding date?

Please get in touch so I can check my availability for you. I would recommending booking around 8-12 months in advance to avoid disappointment.

Why should we book you?

I’ve been a guest at many weddings where the wedding party have disappeared for hours for staged photoshoots, and to me it just feels like the flow of the day is interrupted. Personally, I work with a lot of couples that don’t particularly like having their photo taken, non-posey people that just want to enjoy their wedding day with their guests without being pestered for photos. Generally my formal photos take no more than 30 minutes so that you can go back to actually enjoying your special day.

Do you do posed couple and group portraits?

I mainly photograph non-posed candid moments throughout most of the wedding day, however I do like to provide a handful of portraits to compliment this. Generally I would capture one photo of everyone in attendance immediately after the ceremony, up to 10 family photos, and a handful couples portraits.

How many images should I expect?

I estimate a number of delivered images within my wedding packages, but I don’t guarantee a specific minimum number of photos because I won’t add in bad photos or very similar photos for the sake of bulking up numbers. I only deliver you the absolute best photos from the day but I do usually deliver way over the expected numbers listed.

How long after the wedding will the photos be ready?

You will receive your highlight images within 24-28 hours of your wedding, if included. I guarantee the finished digital album will be delivered within 30 days of your wedding date, although I usually deliver within 1-2 weeks, depending on my schedule.

How will I receive my wedding photos?

Your photos are delivered via a personalised, password-protected online gallery. You can download all the full resolution files from there, plus you can order professional prints from the integrated store. It’s super easy to share that gallery link with all your guests, friends, family, etc. rather than having to distribute individual images.

Do you travel?

I am available for weddings anywhere across the world. I don’t charge any travel fees for full day weddings in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, or Kent.

What are your payment terms?

A 20% booking fee is required to secure your date, along with a signed contract. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding day.

Can we have an engagement or proposal shoot?

Of course! Engagement photos are a great way to get to know me, and they also look fantastic on save-the-date cards. You can view engagement photos here.

Do I have to order prints through you?

You are not required to order through me, but I highly recommend this option to all of my clients as you are guaranteed to receive professional quality products that will last for 100+ years in real-world storage. My print prices also include my time to retouch and export images in specific formats and sizes required by the print lab. You can order a range of standard size prints, wall art, and photo books through your gallery, but if you need a specific size please get in touch.

Do you do black & white photos?

Yup! I usually mix in around 5-10% as black and white photos. If you want more or less black and white photos then please just let me know during our discussions.

Do you carry professional equipment and backup equipment?

I carry two professional Canon mirrorless cameras on me at all times (literally strapped to my body), plus a third for backup just in case one fails. I mainly use Canon’s latest prime lenses for most of my wedding photography but I also carry a couple of zooms as well. I use a Canon 35mm film camera for film photos with a couple of lens options. I have 9 fully charged batteries and a small case of SD cards. Each camera also records to two SD cards at the same time so your images are saved twice for contingency.

Do you do destination weddings?

Yes! I’m very well versed in travelling across the world for various jobs. please get in touch to let me know your plans so I can quote a custom package for you.

Do I own the images?

You are given a license to use the images and a print-release. This means you will never pay anything more to use your photos for personal-use, and you have the option to print at home or via a third-party, if you wish. The images are watermark-free. The copyright remains with me.

Can we meet in person or chat?

I highly recommend meeting with any supplier before you book them. I am based in Harwich, Essex. If you live nearby we can meet in person, alternatively we can arrange an online meeting or phone call.

Can I see your wedding contract?

Of course. I don’t have a copy on my website because it gets updated periodically, so please get in touch and ask to see a draft copy. The contract covers all the terms and conditions so you will know exactly what to expect from me.
